Description

High-polished stainless steel gas cap overlay fits right on top of your current stock gas cap.
Dresses up a plain gas cap with a classy, chrome-looking, highly polished stainless steel cover.
Etched with “Prowler” and “253 HP”.

Easy to install. This overlay is a peel-and-stick product. Everything you need is included.

Made of pure bright, shiny, heavy-gauge stainless steel with a high-polished finish. Will not fade, stain, or rust.
It will not come off on the road, even from vibration or potholes.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Parts Included:

1 x Polished Gas Cap, 1 x Adhesive Promoter Packet

  1. Clean the gas cap area first with soap and water to remove any dirt, then with household isopropyl alcohol. Let dry.
  2. Take your new gas cap cover and place it on top of your Prowler’s existing gas cap. Move it around until it covers the existing gas cap completely. Open your car’s gas cap while holding your new cover in place to ensure it does not interfere with any part of the car. Notice that your stock plastic gas cap has a slight curve from top to bottom. You will need to slightly bend your new metal gas cap to approximately match this curve. Place both of your hands on the new gas cap — thumbs on the back and the other eight fingers on the front side, lined along the center (lengthwise). Place the cap on your leg for support and gently bend it along this center line.Once you attach the gas cap cover, you will not be able to move it again.
  3. Once you are satisfied with the fit, remove the red liner from the attachment tape on the underside of the gas cap cover. Carefully hold the cover over your car’s gas cap. When you are certain it is in the correct position, press firmly to set. Push firmly along the entire perimeter to ensure a tight bond. It is best to let it sit for 8 hours. Do not get it wet during this time.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE: Care must be taken when cleaning your cover. Lightly dust your cover with a clean, soft cloth first to prevent particles from scratching it. Then wipe with a good-quality, streak-free glass cleaner using a new, clean, soft cloth.
