Installation Instructions
Parts Included:
- 1 x Stainless Bug Screen
- 2 x Replacement Screws
- 2 x Chrome Screw Cap Covers with White Nylon Sockets
This bug screen is a premium accessory designed to give your Prowler superior protection against bugs, stones, and virtually any foreign road debris. Unlike unsightly strap-on screens, it blends seamlessly with your vehicle. Its frame is constructed from top-quality 304 stainless steel, and the mesh is made of durable fiberglass screen material.
Your new screen comes with a protective liner. Do not remove the liner until prompted by the instructions.
- Remove the three factory screws securing the black metal grille cap and set them aside. Remove the two left and right screws just above the bracket as well. Note: These screws will not be reused.
- Shape (bend) the part slightly to allow it to slip down behind the factory grille. Remove the clear protective liner from the frame if there is one, then insert the unit. Once the frame is inserted, you will notice two slotted tabs that may need adjustment. Use needle-nose pliers to align them closely with the screw platform. Perfect alignment is not necessary—just close enough for secure fastening.
- After setting the frame in place and adjusting the tabs, reinstall the factory grille cap by slightly bending the screen while slipping it into position. Align the holes. Use the supplied two replacement screws with the white nylon sockets to secure the top plate at both right and left locations. Finally, snap the two chrome screw covers in place to complete the installation.
