“Save your expensive Rear Wheels”

Brighten up your Prowler’s beautiful chrome wheels with these two Wheel Saver Covers.
They cover the area where your rear wheels tend to bubble, pit, and rust, keeping your wheels looking great much longer.
Each one is made of brushed polished stainless steel and enhances the reflection and appearance of your chrome wheels, giving a finishing touch you will love!

One per wheel. Easy to install — simply remove the wheel and slide the cover around the inside.
Peel-and-stick application. Does not affect wheel balance or performance.
It will not rust, corrode, or lose its luster. Wheel Saver bands are 2 5/8 inches wide, about as wide as the inner wheel.

NOTE: Due to the design of the inner wheel barrel of the front wheel, this product is not available for the front wheels.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Included: 2 × Brushed Stainless Wheel Savers, 2 × Adhesive Promoter Packs, 1 × Replacement Attachment Tape

Finally, an aesthetic cure for the Prowler rear wheel problem. For years, Prowler owners have had to deal with rear wheels pitting and peeling
on the rim behind the spokes. Now you can beautifully seal this area with our stainless steel band, permanently eliminating the unsightly, deteriorating chrome finish.

NOTE: Your new cover comes with a clear protective liner. Do not remove this liner until instructed.

  1. Jack up the rear of your Prowler and set it on a pair of jack stands for safety.
  2. Remove the rear wheels.
  3. If your wheels are fitted with stick-on balancing weights, mark the location of the center of each weight at the spokes with a grease pencil or washable marker. This allows you to reinstall them in the same spot — but on top of the Wheel Saver.
    Use a putty knife to pry the weights off; they will come off easily. Replacement attachment tape is included. Roll off the original adhesive with your fingers, apply adhesive promoter (provided), and reapply the new attachment tape to the back of each weight.
    NOTE: It is very important to use the adhesive promoter (packets included) to ensure a strong, permanent bond of the weights. Apply it to both the weights and the Wheel Saver surface, where the weights will be reinstalled.
  4. With the weights removed, scrub the inner wheel with alcohol to remove all oil and dirt. Then, swipe the entire area where the wheel weights will be mounted on the Wheel Saver with adhesive promoter (packets provided). Let’s sit until instructed to continue.
  5. Set the Wheel Saver in position inside the wheel and check the fit. A properly fitted saver will have little or no gap at the seam where the two ends meet.
    NOTE: For best appearance, position the seam behind a spoke in the wheel (see photo).
    It may take some force to ensure the saver fully expands to the rim. Once you are satisfied with the fit, proceed with permanent installation.
  6. Peel back about three inches of the red liner on your Wheel Saver and fold it to the side, allowing you to pull it slowly as you mount the saver. Place the Wheel Saver back into the wheel and position it precisely.
    NOTE: Keep the Wheel Saver lined up so that when the ends meet, the seam matches perfectly.
    While the saver is inside the wheel, pull the liner slowly, being careful not to tear it or let it stick prematurely. Continue until the liner is fully removed. Press firmly along the perimeter to secure the Wheel Saver to the inner wheel.
  7. Peel off the clear protective liner. Reposition the wheel weights (where marked) and press firmly to secure. Reinstall the wheel.
  8. Peel the tape backing off the wheel weights, apply the new tape provided, and stick them onto the Wheel Saver at the marked spots (see photo). Repeat for each wheel.
